# Product Vamp Device Setup ## Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W Flash Raspberry Pi OS Lite 64-bit, enable SSH, and boot the device. Install the package tarball from Gitea or build one locally: ```sh python3 modulus.py package ``` Copy the tarball to the Zero, verify its `.sha256`, unpack it anywhere, and run: ```sh sudo zero/install-zero.sh ``` The installer loads `zero/product-vamp-zero-linux-arm64.docker.tar`, installs `/etc/product-vamp/vamp.json` if missing, configures NetworkManager AP mode, and enables the systemd units. On reinstalls, the installer skips apt entirely when the required OS packages are already present. If packages are missing, the Zero needs upstream internet before the installer can finish provisioning Docker, NetworkManager, and SQLite. Product Vamp owns `tty1` while the display service is running so the DISP-7A shows the appliance UI instead of the Raspberry Pi OS Lite login console. Use SSH for normal administration. `tty2` is enabled as the local fallback console. Defaults: - SSID: `Vamp Control` - Passphrase: `vamp-control` - Zero IP: `192.168.42.1` - API: `http://192.168.42.1:8080` For API-only quick checks, set `runtime.headless` to `true` or run `vamp-zero --once` from a development build. Score inputs are tracked under `data/`. The build/package step runs the Python generator and packages the generated songs and practice variants into the Zero image automatically; generated JSON under the build directory does not need to be copied by hand. ## Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W Hold BOOTSEL while plugging the Pico into USB, then copy: ```text pico/product-vamp-pico2w.uf2 ``` to the mounted `RPI-RP2` drive. The default firmware connects to SSID `Vamp Control` with passphrase `vamp-control`, then talks to `192.168.42.1:8080`. The Pico screen is landscape. Its top bar is blue while connecting, yellow while retrying or when the Zero API is unavailable, and green when the Zero responds. The area below the bar stays blank until a performance or practice score is active, then it shows the title, selected part or active practice key, and page count. Controls: - Tap: next menu item or next page. - Double tap: previous menu item or previous page. - Tap and hold: select the highlighted menu row, or return from score view to the previous menu.
